R.I.P Grandad

At 12:50am this morning a phone call arrived to let the us know that my grandad had passed away roughly 6 minutes before.
Thursday was the last time I saw him alive.

I went to visit him with my parents. He lived at a nursing home and had become too weak to leave his bed. It was odd seeing him without his teeth in. It made his jaw so pointy looking. His appearance reminded me of Gandhi or Davros from Dr Who.

I found it very awkward being there really. It wasn't possible to have a conversation with him. He was breathing heavily and only managed the word 'no' when my mum asked if he was warm enough. He was actually very warm, the whole room was.

On the up side, he is with my Grandma again now and I can only hope that they are very happy together.

Rest in piece Fredrick Fisher, aged 88.

I'm sorry to hear that dude.

it is true that he is with your grandma now, and he is probably very happy and watching over you in peace now.

even if they can't be with us in material, they are always with us in spirit.

always remember the good parts and never forget the happiness he gave you. that is a valuable thing.

I'm very sorry to hear that.

88 is a very long life, and I'm certain he enjoyed it. He's now with his wife and I'm sure they'll both be very happy.
My dearest condolences all the same.

Sorry to hear about your grandad. I know how it feels to see a grandparent when they are effectively 'dying' and it's not nice. Aslong as you remember the good bits though you should be ok. It gets slightly better with time. I imagine things are quite raw at the moment.

Thanks.
I'm actually not too bad. I got used to not seeing him a while ago when he went into the care home with my grandma. The funeral is this Friday so it might hit me harder then.
