Extended Submission Times
This journal entry is to explain why you may experience an extended period of time before your submissions are accepted (or declined) going foward. Basically now that deviantART has switched over to the Eclipse version of the site it is extremely bad at notifying me when something has been submitted for approval (or a profile comment has been left). Before the change, I would get a notification in my regular notification area letting me know without having to do anything special. With the new design I now have to actively remember to go looking for notifications as I get no alerts and everything is now stored and organised in its own private area seperate to everything else. To make matters worse it isn't even evident how to get to this area and it was just dumb luck that I stumbled upon it last week. So basically speaking, until the dA team does something to improve the situation with group notifications you may have to wait longer before seeing your submissions added to the
Eclipse and Me
So, after the news that the "old" site will be shut down around May 20th and deviants will have to then exclusively use the new Eclipse site, I switched over in an attempt to get used to it before then.
I've lasted 2 days and I don't want to put myself through it anymore. I don't like it.
I've been a member of deviantART for 14 years and so I have seen many of the changes made to the site during that time. None of them have ever made me feel like this. None of them have ever been so drastic.
With previous updates I could always see the benefit to what was being done, even if I knew it was going to take some getting used to.
I can't see the be
Fav Spam Account Epidemic
What is happening to deviantART!? Seriously.
There are so many spam advertising submissions on this site now that almost half my time browsing the site is actually spent reporting deviations to the team instead of looking at what I was originally searching for.
There is also an increased number of accounts being hacked or compromised in some way so that genuine accounts are being emptied out of their deviations and then used for the sole purpose of favouriting other deviations so that the grateful receivers visit the profile to thank them only to be greeted with the only single piece of content being a weblink to an adult porn site, usually
Croc Commission Video
Rather than update the deviation description and notify you all again and have you scratching your heads as to what was edited, here's a journal entry to let you know that I now have a video showing off my Croc commission piece in a 360 degree rotation format during the sculpted, primed, and painted stages of completion.
You can watch it on youtube>
